First- Year Advice & Tips for Success

  • Many of our new minors and majors have completed some of their lower-level requirements through AP credit. However, we still advise that you take at least one course, 1007 level or above, during the fall term. 
  • Looking for a Freshmen Seminar? We have one-two every term.  
  • If you are coming in with AP credit, fall is a great time to take a survey (1007 or above) or a 2000-level course! 
  • It is never too early to declare your major in history—as it opens the gateway for you to select major concentrations! For more information, see Major Concentrations on the main catalog page.
