In the 1940s, the City of Cincinnati slated a predominately African-American neighborhood for demolition as part of an industrial redevelopment plan and urban renewal. When the Federal Highway Act passed in 1956, Cincinnati planners displaced over 25,000 citizens for the construction of I-75. The West End Digital Archive houses a community-based digital archive of objects significant to current and former West End residents.
