I’m a history major and English minor, and plan to graduate in 2026. I enjoy reading, various craft projects like crochet, oragami, and twirling baton.

What brought you to the study of history at UC?

I went to UC because of their wonderful history program. I chose to study history because I believe understanding the past will help better understand the present and prepare me for law school.

What are you focusing on (so far) in your history major or minor?

My main focus is history, law, and society since these themes carry over through time frames and regions. However most of my classes have focused on European history which has always fascinated me.

What skills are you picking up from studying history that are coming in handy beyond your history classes?

I am picking up the skills to better annotate and analyze texts, as well as improving my writing and critical thinking.

Have any advice for incoming and prospective history students?

My advice would be to be sure to read the texts since those have been so helpful in supplementing the course, and if those don’t clear up the topic to ask for help talking to the professors has helped the topics make more sense.

What do you hope to do after college?

I hope to go to law school and then practice law.

What’s your favorite part of studying history at UC so far?

My favorite part so far has been the wonderful environment studying and discussions are always amazing because everyone is so passionate.
