Institutional Investors and Cincinnati Neighborhoods: Student Podcast Series
To better understand the issue and educate the public, the students in Professor Hayden Shelby’s Housing course began the semester by producing a podcast series about the housing policy history that laid the groundwork for large-scale investment in single family rentals. They also performed research on how cities around the country are addressing this issue. Finally, they reached to stakeholders around our region and convened two community conversations to better understand how this kind of real estate investment is impacting local neighborhoods and what actions we might take to combat the negative impacts of problematic investors.
You can listen to the podcast series here or wherever you find podcasts:
You can also read about what other cities are doing in our annotated bibliography here.
We will update this page as future classes continue to work on this issue. Stay tuned!
