This course will investigate the rise of the Nazi Party, Hitler’s seizure of power, and the policies of the Nazi state before and during the Second World War.
The course will also explore the origins of Nazi ideology and practice, tracing the rise of racial antisemitism in the late nineteenth century through the growth of fascism in the wake of World War One, and into the discriminatory legislation and escalating violence that culminated in the Holocaust.
