Dr. Shailaja Paik

This course investigates how colonial and post-colonial encounters have shaped gender, sexuality,  race,  class,  caste,  nationalism,  and imperialism in South Asia. Students will consider the various theoretical,  political, social, and cultural ways in which people have addressed and challenged the dire implications of colonialism,  empire,  and globalization.

This is a split-level Undergraduate/Graduate course cross-listed with HIST 6024.
