Laura Kretschmer

Laura Kretschmer is a retired emerita professor. She began her career at the University of Cincinnati 1967 in the Department of Audiology. She and her husband made several contribution to the University. These included research, endowments and support for the UC athletic program. Kretschmer retired in 2009 and continues to be an active member in the UC Bearcat community.

Some of his accomplishments range from the transformation of UC’s campus to the reorganization of the College of DAAP.

He was influential in the development of the Hablamos Juntos project. Fernandez with his fellow associates from other universities worked on the Hablamos Juntos project to help those with a language barrier understand hospital signs nationwide.

Dr. Charels Fredrick Casey-Leininger is a retired professor of History at UC who worked there from 1982 to 2002. He discusses his unique experience exploring job possibilities before settling down. He was a carpenter for many years while he obtained two Master’s degrees in geology and history and one Doctoral degree. Dr. Casey-Leininger spent most of his work at UC researching, teaching, and writing about race and housing in Cincinnati neighborhoods.
